18 to 29 with Diabetes? A new event hosted by the CDA for young adults with Diabetes.

We are coming together to talk about current diabetes research, the history of insulin therapy, and incredible accomplishments achieved by people living with diabetes.

The History of the Discovery of Insulin in Canada
Dr. Michael Bliss, CM, Ph.D, FRSC
Professor Emeritus, University of Toronto

Can you imagine living in a time where there was no insulin available for those living with Type 1 diabetes? Dr. Bliss tells the story of the discovery of insulin therapy and takes you back in time with those who experienced it.

An Update on Islet Cell Transplant for Type 1 Diabetes
Dr. Ally P.H. Prebtani
Associate Professor of Medicine, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Metabolism

Do you really understand how Islet Cell Transplant works? What is the Edmonton Protocol anyways? Dr.Prebtani will share the "in's and out's" of this lifesaving new procedure.

Wish you well at your event!! ...I, like e few others just toooo old and too far way ...actually I will be at the CDA's RAM in Prince George ,BC where I am sponsored by Medtronic to talk about Team Diabetes ( my 10 th event in Calgary , May 30 ) and Summer Surge ...let us know, how it went ( just back from the RAM in Castlegar, BC ...next 2 years interesting for me as the Regional Chair ) ...be well !
