Here goes Judith ...met Doodlebug :) and neglected to ask Hubby to take a pic of us( darn ) .. in short form :) lots of exhibitors: to name a few : Team Diabetes ( me , ha, ha ) Silver Hills Sprouted bread ,low carb food suppliments , YMCA , excercise equipment , shoe ware /support braces , Organ Donors organization , Mental Health Org,Schizophrenia Org, MS Society , eye wear , BG meter comp , insulin pump comp, World Diabetes Day display , CDE's ,St. John's Ambulance with therapy dogs :) .. I was occupied with chairing the Regional Annual meeting ,introducing our Regional Director delivering the Regional Annual report , and the real fun part :giving out the " Volunteer Awards " ... introducing and thanking Guest Speakers 1) Dr. Andrew Farquhar " Beating the Odds " Dr is living with diabetes for 53 years " !!!! Reminded us , that diabetes is a very complex disease( he lives it ) , BP , kidney function , arteries ,regular exercise , not smoking , yes a bit of red wine etc. all intertwined . He is passionate about Diabetes education ( physicians and lay people ) He has given 2 presentations at the World Diabetes Congress, incl Dubai ( which Manny was at )
2 ) Diabetes meal planning : To Carb or Not to Carb ? ..., smaller meals ,fewer carbs , more vegatables , plate format ( maybe best for those not using insulin ) glycemic index,way of preparing food ( try less overcooking) and how it effects your 2 hour after bloodtest , less processed foods , more foods with high fiber content ...I probably forgot to mention inportant observations ...all in all my BG's pretty good :)

Fantastic to read we get to meet doodlebug :) ..I plan to be at the Team Diabetes table except during the RAM and prior to starting at 2 pm ...you won't miss me , because I will wear a ( colourful ) Team D shirt !
I completed the Needs Assessment Survey ...I tried to be as detailed as possible .

I hope to meet you on Saturday. Would there be a good time to get together? PS I've been doing some volunteer work with CDA and am very interested in the Needs Assessment Survey.

Hi Judith , hugs ...I wish our universe is smaller ...but then I did get to meet Tu members Annemarie and Wouter in the Netherlands /April 2012 ...miles away !!
