Event Description

Manny-Hernandez

JDRF Bay Area invites type 1 adults (plus loved ones) to a reception and presentation by Manny Hernandez, President, Diabetes Hands Foundation, the non-profit behind TuDiabetes and the Big Blue Test.

Last fall, Manny gave a keynote address at the acclaimed Joslin’s Diabetes + Innovation 2012 Conference. Lucky for us in the Bay Area, Manny is willing to do a repeat performance in San Francisco!

Learn about the ability of diabetes social media outlets to accelerate the sharing of information and peer education among patients, and how more engaged and empowered patients can effect change in the healthcare system. Because of diabetes networking sites like TuDiabetes, healthcare is more and more a conversation between patients, providers, researchers and pharmaceutical companies. Q & A plus group discussion to follow.
