"Basic carb counting" discussion in the TuDiabetes open chatroom

Event Details

Event Description

6-7pm PT

8-9pm CT

9-10pm ET

This is not a webinar or live interview.  This is a discussion among members of TuDiabetes, in the TuDiabetes chatroom.  Log into the chat room at the designated time to discuss basic carb counting.

How many grams of carbohydrate are in a slice of pizza or a serving of pasta Alfredo?  How about in a salad with croutons and raspberry vinaigrette dressing?  Carbs can sneak into foods we don't expect to find them in!  Do you know how to tell how many are there?

If not, come learn from others who count carbohydrates as part of their diabetes management.  And if you are already a pro at carb-counting, come share how you do it!

Bring your comments and questions to share with fellow members.  Together we are a font of knowledge :)

I won't be able to attend, but I thought I would suggest the Eatsmart scale, it calculates the carbs for you from either the nutritionals, or by using codes for regular fruits, veg, grains, etc. Here is a video of Manny showing how to use it. It's currently on sale for $69.99

We should also discuss carb exchange too. That is what I am currently practicing.
