This is your chance to:

  • Enroll in TrialNet Clinical Research Trials on site...because diabetes research needs diabetes families to move closer toward a cure.

  • Meet Byron Essert, World-class Pro Downhill Skateboarder (ranked 12th worldwide) and Type 1 teen hero for his competitive spirit and wayyy cool attitude about diabetes. Byron will swoosh! on his 'board for the crowd and, in an interview with Manny Hernandez of Diabetes Hands Foundation, Byron will share his experience managing diabetes as a competitive athlete while traveling the globe.   • Join in the Celebration and award presentation to the American Diabetes Association for its heroic victory in the California Supreme Court and all of the organization's work to protect our kids at school, as well as recognition to the Disability Rights Education & Defense Fund (DREDF) for its partnership role in this landmark legal achievement.
  • Hear Dr. Steve GitelmanDirector of UCSF's Pediatric Diabetes Program & UCSF TrialNet Clinical Center  -  and our medical science hero - will give us a report from the type 1 diabetes research frontlines and talk about the importance of TrialNet research to advancing scientific understanding and discovery toward a cure.
