Unlike any other conference/retreat you’ll ever experience—stay at the University of South Florida, learn about diabetes resources in your community, spend Saturday evening on the town, share stories and experiences with one another and hear from some exciting guest speakers.
We hope to bring together approximately 60 young adults between the ages of 18 and 25(ish) for DTreat Tampa.
DTreat sessions will focus on topics such as diabetes and pregnancy, diabetes and active living, diabetes advocacy, diabetes and mental health, financial issues surrounding diabetes, health insurance, research and technology and the history of diabetes.
Co-sponsored by the Students with Diabetes UCF Chapter and Eli Lily, the cost of DTreat Tampa is $50 and includes all meals, snacks, programming, accommodation and evening entertainment. Each participant is responsible for his/her own transportation to and from DTreat program.
DTreat Florida at the University of South Florida begins July 1-3, 2011. ** REGISTRATION ENDS June 28th **
Former Miss America, Nicole Johnson, is involved with and will attend this year's DTreat in Tampa. She shares that "Doctors, health educators and patients don’t talk enough about the emotional impact of diabetes. But a disease that governs the choices you make every day inevitably affects your well-being."
Don't miss the opportunity to engage with a supportive community of your young adult peers, Nicole Johnson, Joe Solweijczyk, Paul Madden and many more amazing individuals!
