Bill is the founder of a website that encourages people with diabetes to live a happy and healthy life with diabetes.  Our motto for 1HappyDiabetic is that “it’s all about your attitude,”

Diagnosed when he was 8 years old, Bill has been through many life stages dealing with diabetes.  Through it all, has been his energetic attitude living with diabetes that has been his biggest strength.

Bill created his first diabetes video in 2007, now his videos have been seen over 1 Million times!

Bill was awarded the 2009 Creative Mind award voted on by the diabetic online community.   His award winning videos for “Making Sense of Diabetes” led the way in spreading awareness of diabetes through internet video creation.

Bill Woods is a member of the Diabetes Online Community.  He has an active role in the Diabetes Hands Foundation’s Diabetes Advocates program includes diabetes bloggers and diabetes online communities working together to conduct outreach programs.  Bill has done speaking engagements about the impact of social media and diabetes.

Bill is also on the Board of Directors for the Central CT and Western MA JDRF chapter.

Bill currently works as a Community Manager for Glu, diabetes non-profit social network with a purpose to accelerate research and outcomes for people touched with type 1 diabetes.
