SUMMARY:Raise diabetes awareness on the CBS Early Show
DESCRIPTION:Back in October, I made an announcement about the <a href=
 \"http://tudiabetes.com/forum/topics/diabetes-handprint\">Global Diabe
 tes Handprint</a>. Then many of you learned about TuDiabetes when you 
 saw the Diabetes Handprint and Word In Your Hand (the project that ins
 pired it) on <a href=\"http://tudiabetes.com/forum/topics/tudiabetes-a
 nd-word-in-your\">Time, People and other magazines</a>.\n\nThe idea be
 hind the project is simple: you write a word on your hand expressing y
 our feelings about diabetes, and sharing the story behind it. In turn,
  OneTouch (the company supporting the project) will donate $5 to one o
 f two diabetes charities (Diabetes Education and Camping Association o
 r Taking Control of Your Diabetes) for every submission.\n\n<b>So what
  does this have to do with the Early Show?</b>\nOn Tuesday, June 2nd, 
 the CBS Early Show will air a segment mentioning the Diabetes Handprin
 t. It will be an outdoor plaza/audience segment where the show's weath
 erman, Dave Price, will mention the Diabetes Handprint during one of t
 heir weather breaks before commercial breaks. He will also mention how
  to participate.\n\nThe folks at the Diabetes Handprint project have a
 sked us if we can help with the turnout. They need at least 50 audienc
 e members to support the project that morning (without that, the segme
 nt won't happen) to be in the crowd outside on the plaza.\n\nThings to
  be aware of:\n* You would need to arrive at the CBS outdoor plaza (59
 th and 5th) at 7:15 a.m. and stay until 8:53 a.m.\n* Family members an
 d friends are welcome, but preferably no young children.\n* Once the s
 how is over, if you want, you could get a tour of the CBS studios.\n* 
 The Diabetes Handprint people will be giving out some t-shirts, hats, 
 etc. and you may asked to wear one.\n* They will have markers handy so
  you can write your word on your hand and show it with your arm raised
  when the camera pans to the audience.\n* They may give out some signs
  and you could be asked to hold one up in the crowd or you can bring y
 our homemade signs (and your word in your hand) to show.\n\nIf you are
