Watch Yves Provost Cycle Across Canada in Support of Diabetes Summer Surge!
Yves Provost
Victoria, BC
Diagnosed with type 2 diabetes six years ago, 52 year old Yves Provost is taking on the Diabetes Summer Surge challenge and will begin cycling across Canada on July 2 from Victoria, BC to Halifax, NS!
Yves, a Canadian Armed Forces member working for National Defense as a contractor, was inspired by reading stories of others raising funds for good causes. Having three to four months free to dedicate to reaching his goal, Yves hopes to raise $5,000 in support of the Summer Surge campaign.
"I’ve run marathons and triathlons in the past, but cycling across Canada has always been a dream of mine," said Yves. "My family has been a great motivator and I’d also like to be an inspiration to others, so they make the best choices for their health as it can affect them for the rest of their lives."
Yves hasn’t let diabetes hold him back! He hopes his Diabetes Summer Surge challenge shows others they can move ahead by obtaining the tools they need and learning all they can. "You have to live life as best you can."
