I recently had my baby on 21 June last month. I had gestational diabetes during pregnancy. I have been checking my blood sugar levels on and off after having baby.
My numbers during the day seemed fine. Fasting was < 5.0 and 1 hr after lunch/dinner < 6.5. Even after eating two slices of chocolate n mango cake my sugar level after 1 hr was around 6.2.
However, I just checked my 1 hr after breakfast number today and it was 10.3mmol/l 2hrs after breakfast was 4.4mmol/l. I had two slice whole grain bread with jam and a cup of tea for breakfast. During pregnancy as well, my 1 hr after breakfast numbers were hardest to control.
I have get a glucose tolerance/challenge test 6 weeks after having baby. But for now I'm worried that I'm already diabetic.
Can you share with ur experience that am I already diabetic or prediabetic?
