I'm sure we are all pretty much the same as far as our bedside tables go. On mine there are the usual items, an alarm clock, a pair of reading glasses, and my kindle and of course there are also the D things; glucometer, can of strips, finger stick thingy, glucose tablets, apidra pen and pen needles, some leftover Skittles in a baggy and a random juicy juice box.
Before I started paying attention to D my bedside table was always a mess in the morning, used strips, pen needles, 1/2 eaten glucose tablets you name it. But more recently as I have taken better control, gotten a CGM, and paid more attention, I am routinely waking up to an undisturbed table, save for the single strip I use before falling asleep. I wake up refreshed and ready for the day, a distinct change from the high/low hangovers I previously suffered.
Not to say that every night is perfect, but I am working on it. And it is a whole lot easier to continue to work when you reap the rewards. Here's to perfect nights, may you have some too.
