I agree, I wouldn't advise anyone to do this. I wasn't advocating it. My IV pump was an idea I came up with, but it was created and built with the advice, assistance, and supervision of 2 medical doctors and a researcher, and there were safety checks in place - things for backflow, air bubbles, infection, clotting, and dosing issues. The first time I used it, the doctor inserted the catheter in my vein, not me. So I am not a total crack-pot.
Yeah, I agree with you, nobody should do this on their own. But unless we think forward, we will always be where we are now.
Imagine 40 years ago, how the idea of a programmed machine that pushed insulin into your body automatically must have seemed dangerous and scary. I want to push things forward a bit faster. Sorry for the commotion.
