Typically yes less than 30g
My typical diet is 4 eggs for breakfast
Some grilled chicken with guacamole for lunch
Then dinner is chicken/beef/pork with some vegetables.
Yes I am a type 1. Although my last c Peptide was 0.48 so I do produce some insulin still which can lead to trouble for hypos. Tonight I "cheated" and had a mcdonalds triple cheeseburger (36g carbs, 32g protein, 38g fat) I did my Bolus but halfway through the square wave for the protein and fat I was heading for a definite low. So I stopped the square wave, and took 18g of glucose. (3 rolls of smarties) and that kept me in the 100-73 range. Normally 18g of glucose will raise me 80-90 mg/dl... except when my beta cells decide to squirt some insulin.
I was misdiagnosed type 2 in 2010. Followed super strict diet (like I do now) but by 2013 that diet and exercise was apparently
Not working as my A1C was 14...
I had a bad doctor at that time and even though i begged him to test for gad65 and he finally did he refused to classify me as type 1 even though my test came back as too high to measure.
So he put me on januvia and I got pancreatitis and was vomiting daily. Finally he agreed to put me on Lantus and i started buying Regular over the counter to Bolus.
When I asked for Novolog he said no as I was type 2. I switched doctors and this one put me on Novolog 70/30. Worst medicine ever. I was high except when I would crash hypo every day around 3-4pm. I lived like that for a year and was depressed no help would ever come. Finally, got a doctor who did more tests c Peptide and IAA. I came back positive for Insulin antibodies and 0.48 on c Peptide with a lab BG of 210 fasting.
Within 2 weeks i got a minimed 630g, and here I am. It's been a life saver for me.
