@lh378, health--and natural healing practices--is my passion. I am happy to share my experience
I had already been taking a variety of natural products to bring candida overgrowth into balance--allicin, grapefruit seed extract, caprylic acid, p'au darco...to name a few. I would alternate between them, and I was seeing a modest reduction in candida overgrowth symptoms (alternating diarrhea and constipation and an irritated feeling in my lower bowel after a movement were the main symptoms for me)
The impact of bacillus coagulans was immediate. The symptoms of "die-off" can include headaches, a little nausea, and diarrhea. As long as it's tolerable, keep taking the bacillus coagulans is my motto
Jicama--peel and julienne into salads. It's crunchy and slightly sweet. Some people also bake it like French fries... I like it raw
I use two types of enzymes--Thorne puts out a good one that has ox bile in it that I used while treating SIBO. I also use a systemic enzyme that has a coating that takes it all the way into the intestines where it breaks down the bio-film where the pathogens hide out. It also goes into the blood and breaks down the proteins that cause inflammation. The brand I use is called Vitalzym. It isn't cheap, but it works better than any of the others I've tried. Once, when we lived in Florida, my husband put his hand in a woodpile and came out covered in red ants. He had bites on top of bites. His hand swelled immediately. I had him take 10 vitalzym (they are small) and, within a day, all swelling gone.
