One of the things we really miss is personal profiles, a way of clicking on someone's picture, seeing a summary of who they are, seeing the stories they have shared, their pictures, their videos and to leave personal comments. Here is a model of how we can do that here on TuD under the new system.
I'd like to ask that everyone in the lounge take it upon themselves to learn how to build their profile and how to use it. Once we are comfortable, I'd like to roll it out so everyone can do it.
In this topic I will describe how to use a personal profile
How to see a profile
Hover over the picture or username and left click. Then up pops the member's card
You can see some basic information about the member. To see more, left click on their photo or username again and you will be brought to the home profile page.
Left Click on "Expand" and you can see further information on the member, including any website or blog that they have and you can also have a link to your Detailed Profile page. My expanded profile gives my personal blog as well as listing my Detailed Profile page at "http://www.tudiabetes.org/forum/t/profile-for-brian-bsc/47204
If you left click on the link to My Profile at "http://www.tudiabetes.org/forum/t/profile-for-brian-bsc/47204
" you will see my Detailed Profile I created in the Share My Stories category. This is a normal discourse topic and can contain links, pictures and videos. Note also at the bottom I have placed a link to let you see all the stories I have written and posted into the category "Share My Stories." If you want you can comment to the member personally on the Detailed Profile Page by just posting on the topic like you would any other topic. Try visiting my Detailed Profile by clicking on the link "http://www.tudiabetes.org/forum/t/profile-for-brian-bsc/47204
Please try out using this way of doing Personal Profiles. Check out some of the other members who have shared their profiles including @MarieB, @DrBB, @Terry4, @YogaO, @curlysarah, @Natalie5 and @CatLady06. Please comment on how well you think this works.
I have created instructions on How to Customize Your Profile and How to Create a Detailed Profile.
