OMG, totally know precisely what you’re saying!
My son and I are in this together as he has Type 1 and I have the crazy issue of reactive hypoglycemia.
We read these posts together whenever we can.
It’s so true that we can never have every exigency covered.
Once when stuck in Storrow Drive ramp traffic, and my son was low, and dropping, I practically wanted to leap over the " Jersey" Barriers to get him juice. Note, there was juice in the glove compartment but out of date…Also if not careful, glucose tabs can become moldy, yikes.
As for me, and reactive hypoglycemia, well I’ve become accustomed to not having anyone understand and to receiving a lot of ignorant or insulting comments. I’m super strict about managing my food intake but it can take me by surprise. Low BG’s in the 30’s. I am fully aware that this is not like Type 1, but I most definitely know what a bad low is like and how long it can take to come back from one.
I have had this problem for about 40 years, long before I had children and always wonder if my partially defective pancreas is the reason my son developed Type 1 at age 3
