Noticed your post in my e-mail feed and had to comment since I've been Type1 since I was 3. Since people normally don't have memories before they are 3, I really do not remember a time where I have not had diabetes. Just like you, I have always been the shortest in my class and in my family. Oh, by the way, out 15 cousins and 2 siblings, I was the only one hit with diabetes.
Don't let it get to you. It is really a tiny part of your life. You will be able to go to school, get a job and even travel and have kids if you want to. (Waaay in the future - not at 13!!!) In fact, I found my freedom during my first job. If you'd like to laugh, it was at a Dunkin' Donuts!
Just curious, but why didn't the sports, hobbies or crafts work out? How do you feel that the Diabetes took control of those situations?
Please let us know.
(Again, sorry, 8 days late...)
