update... I did the 10 Mile race over memorial
Day weekend. All went well except the weather . All my training runs were 40-60 degrees. On that day 78 degrees and 80% humidity. So no personal best on that race . I was able to finish. Now I am training for a half in September to redeem my ego. I am using a zone 2 training method so I am Doing a lot of long slow runs. I have run so far a 2 hour run and next week a 3 hour run. So because I need to keep the HR BETWEEN 111 -132, I have been doing the long runs on the treadmill as the elevation outside proves to over exert even the slowest jog. I'm fine with it so far. I am 7 weeks into the heart rate trading and have seen some improvement to aerobic capacity. Good luck to you other racers as the season is in full swing.
