So, we've been using the pod now for a good month and the one thing that I've observed more than anything else is that the "small red raised bumps" that form under the pods (they are there once you remove the pod), don't seem to go away? We have a 4 site rotation (2 thighs and the upper bum, both sides.) With the thighs we alternate needle up/needle down each time we use the area, but with the upper bum area, we're only using the needle down (I still don't quite understand my wife's rationale with this, but she's convinced (due to him being not potty trained yet) that needle should be down...I'm still trying to figure this one out..
Anyway, after I remove a pod and switch to another site, I don't come back to the same area again for 10 days or so (3 days + some of the "extra cushion areas" per pod, on the other 3 sites. Is 10 days just not enough time to make those bumps go away and that's why I'm seeing the last bump when I make my way back around to the site again?
What I do when I remove the pod is a) clean site thoroughly with alcohol wipes, then b) put a bandied over the site and I've applied a small amount of Neosporin to the bandied prior to putting it over the site. Anyone have any good tricks or things that have worked for them to make these bumps disappear quicker and/or not form in the first place?
I've read some posts on this forum dealing with the same thing and people refer to "scar tissue?" Seriously? On a 2 year old...after 1 use? That's scary for me to think about given his age and the frequency we'll need to use each of these areas.
