You will be feeling better soon! Watching your fat intake for a while is a great tip. Also, I found it hard to sit up for long periods post surgery. My five year old at the time of my surgery kept wondering why I was on the sofa so much!
Heads up on the gas pain that rises to your shoulder! Moving around while you are in the hospital is helpful for that symptom.
I was on a business trip when they removed my non-functioning gall bladder. It was infected. Stand your ground. Patients have rights, but just be nice about it. Check your chart. I found lots of errors ( e.g. they tried to feed me a full meal after surgery. I asked for broth and jello. Nurses insisted I eat. Dietician came up. Said the doctor said I could eat regular food. I asked to see the chart and the doctor wrote, "progress to solid foods."). I got my broth and jello!
