You've probably read most of this already:
By all means....anything that tastes Good, you must give up. :X Just Kidding. There are different types of artifical sweeteners or low carb or diet or sugar free foods. Splenda, Equal, Sweet'n Low, etc. Stevia(available at Walmart's or health food stores, etc.) is not classified as a sweetener. I only use it 3 times a week tops.
If you are talking regular pop, yes, you need to give that up. I don't drink pop except for about 4 ozs. of Ginger Ale, if I have a mild unsettled stomach(unexplained). Usually 3 times a year. Many Diabetics drink Diet pop. My Hubby and I drank Fresca as Teenagers and we didn't even know it was Diet. We evidentally didn't read labels back then. A Nice Lady on here mentioned it. Thinking back now I do remember trying a diet cola and I didn't like it. It could've been that I always disliked colas. I can live through the occasional sip of my Hubby's rootbeer which he shouldn't be drinking. I don't really like pop any more but it is Good to have a variety of foods and drinks to consume.
If you don't like salad, it should be on your food list anyways. Or pick your favourite raw veggies and eat them as snacks. Easy on the tomatoes. They seem to raise some People's blood sugar a lot. I just have the occasional 1 1/2 slice tomato, 1 slice toast with a bit of miracle whip on the 1/2 slice of toast. I also buy the grape or Tiny Tom's, or the strawberry(I think they are called)tomatoes. Then I can take 2 or 3 for a snack or whenever or slice some into our salads.
Good job on your weight-loss. Keep up your Good work. Take a daily brisk walk around the block. Short and sweet. Anyways, continue learning.
