I do think passionate communication on this issue is what's needed from our community. The total dismissal of a low carb high fat (LCHF) as a rational first line of treatment for diabetes by the the formal medical institutions is outrageous. Rightful indignation is appropriate from us. Their approach harms our community.
When I think of the AIDs community in the 1980s and 1990s, they were highly effective using passion and anger as appropriate response to an outrageous societal non-response to the burgeoning AIDs crisis. I think the Hope Warshaw's of the world need to feel a certain amount of heat from us. We probably won't convince her but the "people in the room" could gain much from that conflict.
Conflict can be productive if it is controlled and doesn't degrade to name-calling.
When and where is the AADE meeting?
