Last November I wrote a song for World Diabetes Day which I played on a vlog post.
It was one of the first songs I have ever written that honestly came to me on the drive home from work! After the vlog went up, I had a lot of people asking for a copy to download. As much as I liked the words and the way I sang it, it was not complete.
In March I went into a professional studio with a 24 pack of diet soda, my guitar, and a piece of paper with my lyrics on it. I spent 8 hours recording tracks, changing harmonies, and adding instruments.
And finally it was done.
The song is really a journey through my diabetes life, from being diagnosed and having no idea what I was dealing with, to wondering why this happened to me, to finally accepting it and preparing myself to not let it get the best of me.
The chorus says, "You're here with me, but not by choice. Your scream so loud without a voice. I learned your name, but still I don't understand why it never ends."
Here is a link to iTunes where you can purchase it.
I hope when you listen to it, you find your own story within the words.
Also, I would love to know what you think. Your opinion and support means to much to me.
