Thanks, Gerri. I have one and a half (ish) Lantus pens left -- barring a bum pen or other catastrophe, this should last me until I get the Levemir. I do not relish another hour-plus-long (round trip) ordeal of going to the HMO pharmacy on Monday.
I'm being forced to convert to Levemir due to the formulary tier price hike. I think I'll be OK with Levemir eventually (no Lantus burn!), even if the two shots per day are a drag. However, I don't see why they have to rub in all the stress by making me go back twice to get it -- the cheap buzzards never have what I need in-stock. I've been forced to go back twice for one prescription on at least seven different occasions over the past two years, and each time the prescription was ordered two or three days in advance, e.g. ordering eighteen pens of Novolog and they only have seven when I show up. Having the wrong milligrams of something. Not having Synthroid in stock. That kind of thing.
I'll be OK...Lord willing and the river don't rise!!!
