I used a new area for my pump change tonight and I am happy to say that it was a success. (So far. I'll have to wait to see if there's any kinking or anything. But I'm pretty confident, hopefully not overly so)
In the past, when I've used my butt for a site, it either really hurt a lot, or I got blood in the cannula. Yuck. But this time, even though I braced myself for the pain, I didn't feel the site go in at all!
Three days ago, I used a new area on my stomach. I haven't experimented with new sites in a while, since discovering that my back/love handles made excellent spots, and the area on top on my thigh did not (too much muscle I guess? So it hurt, plus I ripped them out really easily).
I realized the other day that if I'm going to be diabetic for a while, I might want to consider diversifying my site areas as not to build up too much scar tissue.
Added bonus: My site will be under my swim suit when I go to the pool this weekend, so no weird tan lines.
Except for that ridiculous BG reading (396), it's a good night.
Hoorah for the little things, rights?
