Thanks for those kind words Allen and for the graphs. In my recent quest to "flatline" with my new CGM, I have been playing with my Levemir injections and can never get them just "perfect". There is always a time of day when the BG drops and another time when it rises. This means either correcting with Humalog shots or glucose to try to get the flatline, which is a lot of work.
I did a quick excel chart of my current Levemir dosing using the glucose clamp test chart on the package insert to try to figure out how the insulin works (I am not sure if this is correct but hey it is worth a shot (pun intended) I think there may be a time-shift for when the shot to start working. Anyways...) Based on my current dose my BG will increase around 5am to 8am and then again around 19:00 - 22:00. If I raise my dose, you can guess where the BG starts to drop - there will be a 3am low and drop before lunch.
Long story short - Tresiba would be very welcome in my part of Canada.
I have pretty much convinced myself I either need a pump or need to take Levemir 3x a day while I wait for the special magical day when Health Canada approved Tresiba for sale. I have been trying a demo Pod....
