Just curious of the people on this site, what percentage of your life have you lived with diabetes?
I've lived with diabetes for 70% of my life. I'm 31 and was diagnosed with Type 1 at the age of 9.
Only 9% for me. I'm 64 and was diagnosed at 58.
Half my life--26 years. I'm now 52.
Good attitude, nwt...and nice to find someone in my percentage group!
66%, dx@ 16, now 45. Did I do the math right? I did Jen's the same way and got her number. It seems like a long time though. I was thinking 1/2 and was like "oh, wait..."
50 % as type 2. Now 65; diagnosed in the 80's.
I believe here was some earlier data in 70's indicating pre-diabetes but diagnostic tools un clear then.
Not interested in bragging rights. Don't need em.
no calculator at my finger tips so to speak ( just caluses , ha, ha ) need some help : diagnosed at age 42 plus , I am into my 73 year ...30 years with diabetes , Jan 25
95% i was Dx at 3 and am 46 now give or take a few percent pionts,I never really have not know a life without having diabetes.Love it or hate it and what it can give you health wise in other health condtions and troubles. But i have friend who beats use all at 100% and she is 51 and was DX as baby at 5 months old.
98%. I am 42 (about to be 43) and diagnosed when I was 11 months old.
I really don't remember when I was diagnosed, but I must have been in my 30's. That would put me in about the 60 percentile of my life. It was a progressive disease for me. I began as a type 2 with little control, only to discover later that I am an LADA diabetic.
I'm not into "beating" or "bragging rights" either but I like to see the very broad diversity despite which, we've all ended up here together!
Hmmm 13% officially. Makes it seem longer LOL
83% And I am well over 31 :D
About 23%. Since Celiac Disease came at the same time, I tend to think of things like, When was last time I didn't have to worry about what I could/should/would eat?
66% diagnosed at 21 coming up on my 63 birthday
26% sounds like a long time. I was diagnosed at 43.
Same here Cinderfella. Age 52 with Type 1 almost 26 years.
This is why I asked (diversity), so far we have ranged from 1% to 98%!
I've lived with diabetes for 58% of my life.
Diagnosed T1 at 27 years, currently 42 years old.
