Every single one of us has a little room for improving our lives as diabetics, right? So whats your diabetes goal for 2010?...better food choices? ...more frequent blood testing? ...or even (gasp) daily exercise?

Maybe your goal is totally different...like mentoring a child with diabetes, fund raising, or getting more involved with different diabetes groups and organizations.

Whatever your goal is, I wish you all the best success in 2010.

My Diabetes related goals for 2010 are:
1. Keep writing down all my numbers (I've been going strong for a month and a half! After 24 years with T1 that's pretty good!)
2. Get my A1C down to a number where I can start trying to get pregnant. My last was 7.7 so I have a ways to go...
3. Get back into shape-I have a 5K I want to run in June and another in November.
My goals for the new year! Start exercising. I joined a gym and have begun to go each morning at 8 a.m. I find that's is easiest to get up early and get it over with. I also want to test more often and work on a food diary. I keep forgetting to log what I eat, so that will be my goal for the new year.
Eat more vegetables.
Exercise more.
Eat carbs less.
Dote on my wife and kids as much as humanly possible.
to get my A1C under 6 (right now 6.2) and be in the best health of my life as I prepare to start a family.
To help others...I find, when I do, it ends up making my life so much richer and easier to deal w/ my D:)
As with most people, my resolutions are to:

1) Lower my A1C by testing more and actively using my CGM. I eventually want to have children, and I don't want to wait until I'm ready to get pregnant to have a good A1C. I want to start now, so by the time I'm ready, my A1C will be ready too.
2) Exercise more (ideally 4x a week)
3) Get more involved in the offline diabetes community. I'm great online, but offline needs work. Meet with more people, and also get involved in the political advocacy arena and with events.
My goal is the get up each morning and affirm positivity in my life, to implant an awareness within myself at the very beginning of each day, a fresh juice, a deep breath, exercise in the outdoors. I'm prioritizing first thing my commitment to myself, to managing myself best I can, being fresh, prepared, and dedicated to health and my future...hmmm...my goal is to make responsible choices!
Minimize the depression as much as I can without meds that will make me actually suicidal....Best to all.....

How do you measure the work of volunteers?

329,040 minutes, 329,040 moments so dear. 329,040 minutes — How do you measure, measure volunteers? In smileys, in tears shed, in counsel, in cups of coffee. In units, in carb counts, in laughter, in strife. In 329,040 minutes – how …
