Can you name some famous people with diabetes? I know a few: Mary Tyler Moore (of course), Bret Michaels... They don't have to be movie stars, maybe sports figures, authors, musicians, singers, NASCAR...?

Who was the actress that played on Designing Women with the blond hair? She too has diabetes.

The Johnson & Johnson heiress that just passed away had T1. I wonder if she had any influence on the companies direction? Last time I heard they didn't know what she died from, but the fact that she used a lot of drugs doesn't help the diabetes much...
Oh! Well a diabetic reaction would explain a lot compounded by her drug use.
Yes...I am old!:

Mary Tyler Moore
Tom Seaver (baseball player in the 70's)
Jean Smart (JDF spokesperson)
Alan Thick's son (not sure if it is the singer). He was active back in the 90's but not sure now
Joe Scarborough's son (although not famous Joe does discuss issues at times)
'04 Olympian swimmer (male) cannot think of name.

Halle Barry is a joke!
Never knew Bret Michaels was.

It is unfortunate that there aren't enough famous people out there who step up to the plate to let us know how they handle themselves. As a kid I always enjoyed watching Mary Tyler Moore and at least felt somewhat "normal"

Maureen (diagnosed in '73 at age 10)
Patty Labelle has it too, and one of the Jonas Bros (don't remember which one). Barry White don't remember anymore, but
there are alot of them.
Tracy Morgan - Comedian, 30 Rock, SNL
He talks a little about it in the March 4, 2010 issue of Rolling Stone magazine.
Austin Freeman is the star of Georgetown University's men's basketball team as was just diagnosed on March 1, 2010
Jay Cutler is type one, Bears quarterback.
Brad Wilk, the drummer for rage against the machine is a type 1.

Oh I love Crystal! How did you hear she was diabetic? Is it T1 or 2?
She has an account here, in our community... Just look at one of the banners on the main page... She states on it that she's a Type 1. :)
Rick Phillips - famous in my own mind. Diabetic for 35 years. a true legend of nothing.
