TuDiabetes - A Community for People Touched by Diabetes

Can you name some famous people with diabetes? I know a few: Mary Tyler Moore (of course), Bret Michaels... They don't have to be movie stars, maybe sports figures, authors, musicians, singers, NASCAR...?

Who was the actress that played on Designing Women with the blond hair? She too has diabetes.

I met the man backstage on tour back in 99. I had a brief conversation with him that went a little something like this:

Me: "Phife lemme ask you something"
Phife: "Yeah"
Me: "You really got Diabetes?"
Phife: "Yeah"
Me: "Yeah me too"
Phife: (serious look on his face) "Take care of that sh*t man"

Sad to read he's having health issues now.

I can name a son of a famous person does that count? Alan Thicke's son I think his name is Jason is a Type 1 too! Back when Thicke and his son was very vocal on trying to find a cure and living with diabetes. Thanks for the info about Elvis! I didn't know about him! The rest well I did but forgot. Nice topic!

Neil Pert?

Evel Knievel is my favorite celebrity diabetis to mention to people. He spent his whole life cheating death and risking his life. But what got him in the end? Diabetes. Kind of shocking, actually.
