TuDiabetes - A Community for People Touched by Diabetes

This one is a couple of weeks old, but was simply too funny not to pass on. It seems that Oramed Pharmaceuticals, Inc. recently announced the addition of two provisional patents for -- I kid you not -- a suppository application for insulin!! I almost fell out of my chair from laughter when I read this -- its much funnier than insulin toothpaste.

Several other message boards online featured a variety of comments about this news item, which ranged from "this invention stinks (can you guess why?)" to "I wonder if its politically correct to dose insulin suppositories in public?". Everything but the cure, huh?!

There's not something wrong with me because I'd much prefer to jab needles in my body, is there?

It's hilarious how this thread just kind of pops up out of nowhere. Weeks go by and then BAM...
...look! Its the giant insulin pill in your arse thread again.

I still laugh and cringe every single time see that pill.
What could those scientists on the side be thinking about?

Don't you mean this thread poops out there?

I haven't heard of this until just now, and havent read the whole thread, but I guess they must of been trying to avoid gestational factors of the pill absorption. Like if you drink alcohol out of your but you will get tanked MUCH faster, as the alcohol doesn't properly pass through the liver and gets into the bloodstream faster. Obviously this is very dangerous and not advised in the slightest.
