Some people get upset when I ask this question, but here goes.

What was your last A1C result? Just curious is my reason for asking.

Mine was 6.6.

Hello! my aic is now 5.5 really truely Amazing! PUMPING ROCKS! diabeties diabeticidol94
My last one was 5.4 (I'm Type 1) but my doctor told me this was too low and I should decrease my insulin to avoid hypos! He also suggested using Metformin to allow me to reduce my daily insulin dosage and help me to lose weight. Anyone else heard of overweight Type 1s using Metformin to help lose weight???

5.8 and 5.9 were my last two, and I am really happy about it. i have really worked hard and tested alot to make those numbers happen. Just proof that you can do anything, if you focus and make it a priority.
is it ok that I hate you and amd happy for you all at the same time? :-P
6.8
I was 6.7 three months ago, and 6.9 two weeks ago.
steady Eddie, I mean, even Kevin :)
Just got it tested today, 5.8. Never thought I could get it that low!!
Well done! It can sometimes take a lot of work and a lot of care -- but if we are willing and able to take control of our own health, we can improve it considerably :)
I am a type 2. My Dr. tests every 3 months. The last A1c (June) was 5.3. I do it thru diet and exercise and oral medications. Two years ago I was in the 6.8 - 7.0 range. My daily numbers are higher than we would like but, the Dr. says I don't know what you are doing, just keep doing it.
5.8, 5.9, and 6.5, 2 weeks ago. Life is good, going for a run and a beer to celibrate....;) Spelling opitional...haha
I was at 7.6 in March/April. In June, I started on Levemir (along with orals), and on Thursday, my A1C was 7.0. So it's dropped a little bit. The only thing I am concerned about now is that I am at 44 units of Levemir. Yet, in spite of the high dosage my fasting blood sugars still range from 8.0 to 10.0.

One question I had, is there a way to check your A1Cs at home?
