I have a question I went to my eye doctor in january for my annual exam I was ok. Unfortuntately she has just retired also. for the last week at work where it is very bright with the walls and windows I noticed when i blink only a white small oval image it is not there all the time only in bright conditions sometimes when i bend down to pick something up but my vision is fine. Has anyone every had this happen i have floaters already for years and they are more pronounced in outside or well lighted places but the white oval image when i blink and only for a second is new. Any ideas I do not think it is retinal detachment I assume you would see a white image while you eye is open not in a blinking status and i correct. I would appreciate any advise on this or if others have had the same experience...

Can't say about the white oval.
But I have developped floaters recently and went to the ophtalmologist worrying about the retina. He said the small amount of floatters are caused by the collapse of the protein matrix in the aqueous humor and that that was not serious but normal with old age.
He said if you have retinal detachment you will have one or several flashes of light followed by a lot of black floaters, he said when that happens to rush to emergency.
Wonder if the white oval has anything to do with the tear situation. I just had cataract surgery and with the eye drops and slime in there I see a lot of weird stuff.

i have a very similar thing.. they found two little spots of blood next to the macular (right in front of the optic nerve) so i am going in wednesday to get evaluated for laser surgery.. i guess they inject a die to see if those spots are actively leaking, but they say that can explain the blank spots in my vision. mine are more noticeable in bright light, like yours.. but mine are still there all the time.
