I seem to have co-commitent high blood pressure and high cholesterol which is upsetting to me as I am quite active. Is this characteristic for adult diabetics?

Permalink Reply by rick phillips on February 20, 2013 at 8:06pm It is not something that happens every time but it is somewhat 'normal'. Many diabetics, me included take a daily BP and cholesterol pill. This is often termed a preventive dose but if you have the issues it may be more than a preventive drug. Many Endo's commonly prescribe this to all type 1's and many type 2'. Almost all heart docs jump on it like white on rice. So yes it is pretty common.
