I have been prescribed Byetta...today, it is kicking me left and right. I feel totally full and nauseous at the same time....I had a little bit of breakfast, but I feel like I ate an entire cow and then some.....has anyone ever felt like this if they are using Byetta.?

Hey Clee,

I have been on Byetta before and had the same issues. I would get halfway through a sandwich, feel awful, then have to sleep it off to feel any semblance of normal again. Try talking to your doctor about the dosage amount and taking it EXTREMELY slow while your body is getting used to it. Otherwise, I actually had to quit taking it because my body just couldn't adjust. Keep communicating with your doctor - this is one of those rough ones. Sorry :(

I felt the same way. Lasted for most of the first month and then a little more after I went on the 10 mcg maintenance dose. It still makes me feel like I can't eat. Guess that is why I've lost like 120 pounds.
Hi Clee
I remember Byetta. It does tend to kick your butt in the beginning but in most cases the problems subside after a while. There is another diabetes site out the that has a section totally devoted to Byetta users. Sorry I can't remember the name but you might want to look it up. I found the members of that group very helpful with suggestions for easing the discomfort.
