I am really bothered by a computer problem that came into existance after a long rehab stay. My computer monitor first hooked up AS a computer monitor. After one of my stays in a rehab center using it as a TV and then (unable to prevent this) suffering through numerous updates to Windows, I can't get anything above a dull, almost-silent ding of sound. I am missing so much with no sound since videos almost inevitably have loads more meaning with words!!
I live in the Milwaukee, WI, area. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could help since I cannot afford to call someone in that does this for a living.
I would certainly be grateful.

I have similar difficulties all the time but have an in-house counsel. May need more specific info, but you and I have several ways to connect. In meantime, do address TuD Techies and ADMIN directly.....Love you. Hang in there!.....xx000

There are two major areas where you can look. First, it is possible that the cables connecting your monitor (which I presume has speakers) are not connected properly or have a poor connection. Second, you could try opening your control panel and see if the sound settings are improperly set.

Already you lost me. What is a control panel? Is it the CPU? And then I would know what a sound setting is a properly set of the sound settings?
See, I'm hopeless!
Permalink Reply by acidrock23 on January 26, 2013 at 6:56pm If you have a "start button", with the windows/ microsoft logo in the lower left corner and left mouse button it, it should pop up a menu and control panel will be one of the options. That's where you have to look to find the sound settings that will help you find your problem I think?
