So I have a new girlfriend who also has Type one diabetes!, pretty interesting stuff haha.

How many of you have a relationship with another diabetic?

Nope...not at all. Plus I'm the only diabetic in my family....even in extended family. I don't know how I got so lucky?!?!

My first kiss was a girl at diabetes camp many, many summers ago.
Since then, no, I have never dated someone else with diabetes. The opportunity never presented itself (and uh, I'm married now) but I don't know if I would have. While it would have been a novelty to not have to explain things and to have all the frustrations with diabetes in common, I know that I am a moody pain in the butt and diabetes is partially to blame. Women are half-crazy anyway, and type 1 diabetes would push a female over the edge.
I give it about 6 months, Kenny, and you'll post back here and say, yeah, you were right. She was nuts and diabetes didn't help.

Wow Greg, you're suddenly kind of a hero for me....

Relax, Sophie. So long as you aren't psycho and can fit into a pair of jeans you needn't worry.

a bit uncalled for maybe? jumping to conclusions and stereotyping?
not cool.

Ok, you answered one of my questions. Good luck with the jeans, though.

OMG I'm SOOOOO jealous... nope never had a relationship.. but did hook up with another type 1. That was pretty cool. We like checked our sugars and took our shots together.. It was really comforting..

Never... always alone... Maybe I met some diabetics but they didn't tell me about diabetes.

It would be nice to be with someone who understands the pressure of living with diabetes. My soon to be ex wife is a nurse who still doesn't know much about diabetes.

Not me! I was the only diabetic in my small town back in the 70's. Please let us know how that works out for you.
