So I have begun to walk again four times a week for at least 30 mins or 2-3 miles.  Since I have, I've noticed that I get "lower" faster.....is my metabolism really speeding up that fast???? I'd live to hear from others that exercise on a regular basis & get your input as to what tips u have, etc.....

I think that it is very possible that your metabolism would speed up quickly from starting to exercise, particularly if you do something you haven't done. It sounds like you are being regular and dedicated to it @ 4x/ week and I think that willl maximize that benefit. If the numbers are consistent and you are hitting 4x/ week, it may be beneficial to lower your rates and even ratios a smidge? I have had pretty decent luck doing that. A lot of the time, I will try turning it down .05U/ hour across the board and let 'er ride for a couple of days, see how it goes and, if the numbers stay there, I figure it's about right. If it's a big change or you are concurrently doing other things (eating less, eating more vegetables, eating MORE, whatever? :-)) maybe more of a change is in order. Good job getting going!
This is all so true. I had a number of 185 and since I was going for a short Jog I decided not to correct and decrease my basal. When I got back about 30 minutes later my number was down to 69. Exercise is the key to reducing insulin tremendously. I'm very sensitive to exercise like you are, decrease your basal and be careful!
Hi Samantha, and congrats on the exercise routine! Walking is what I did even before Dx as T1, although I usually waited until the evening or got up early. Then I decided, since I live just a smidge less than three miles from work, that I'd just incorporate one objective into another; I walk to or from work at least four days, and somewhere else at least one day on the weekend. The most interesting thing is that, where I once saw it as something to do begrudgingly, I now get kinda antsy if I don't get a walk in! But none of this answers your question...

I think any exercise makes the body run more efficiently in the long run. As acidrock mentioned, your body is adjusting to its new normal. You don't mention if getting lower faster means while you're walking, or overall. I can drop as much as 100 pts in a mile and a-half, so I've learned to test before walking and always take hard candy to suck on during. I pay attention to my pace (which is fast) and if my feet aren't doing what I want them to, I stop to test. One thing I'm still not good at is testing at 30 minutes or an hour after.

About the only other thing I can offer is something you may know already. If you have a good idea of when you'll be walking, take that into account when bolusing for the meal before. I tend to eat a late lunch (~2:00) and insulin seems to peak in me at 2.5-3 hours. If I know I'm leaving work at 5:00, I might do one unit less at lunch if it isn't carby...

Good luck, and let us know how you're progressing.
Yes it is happening overall & after excercise, so yes it's a good thing to have but I also need to lower my ratios too!! Duh ;) thanks guys keep the replies coming!!
