There's a site that offers free online University courses, including several excellent nutrition related subjects that would be of interest to anyone wanting to know more about managing diabetes.

Wow, thank you so much for the link. I am going to have great fun! They have so many interesting courses too. I am going to do nutrition, the one about the universe, and the one on drugs and the brain too. The next time my doctor prescribes me another drug, maybe I will know of a food that will help instead, when he gets mad, I can quote to him the intricacies of of the universe and really freak him out!

In addition to the benefits of increased knowledge that you mentioned, I am a strong believer that as far as the brain goes its 'use it or lose it'.
