Fun Discussion! What has been the craziest so-called cure you have ever heard for Diabetes!

Though out the last 30 years I have been told that if I loose weight my T1 would go away. When I was a child I was told by someone that I may grow out of it. This last week a chiropractor told me that he could cure diabetes with some adjustments to my back. What have been some of the worst, funniest, saddest and craziest cures you have heard of?

Oh, not sure about the cure, but could handle the sauna bit!
Hey now. Don't knock that brilliant lemon-water cure. I tried that! (although not to cure my diabetes). It sent me straight into a spectacular colitis flare-up : /
I use cinnamon because it does help my metabolism!

I did hear the one about cinnamon being the cure. Yeah right! I don't think you'll see me eating cinnamon buns at Dunkin's.

The "cinnamon cure" is a perennial post on all forums. Closely followed by various other herbs and spices. Eventually I wrote a "standard answer" to cover it: Cinnamon, Spices, Herbs and Similar

Occasionally I add a cinnamon stick when I am making coffee, but for taste not for BGs.

Everything in Moderation - Except Laughter.

I discovered that adding cinnamon and some sweetener to cottage cheese is quite tasty. But I only do it for taste, not for any supposed medicinal properties. I'm an ol' skeptic when it comes to magical herbs and spices -- it they were so effective, there wouldn't be any more diabetes, now, would there?

Carrot juice and coffee enemas - see Gerson Therapy, Well you don't really want to see it, it is supposed to cure a myriad of diseases.......well you know how it goes........It is supposed to cure cancer too but you don't see on the website that the original Dr. Gerson died of cancer.
That's kinda funny...
ouch o.O
so what grind should I use? paper filter or french press? HAHA
I've been working with a guy the past 5 years.

He swears up and down that he knows many diabetics who were cured by honey and chicken soup. They used to take shots, check their bg's, now they don't do those things anymore, they just eat honey and chicken soup.
