You can't get one (legally) without an Rx from a doctor.

if you are a type 1 why would your doctor not write you a prescription? do you not have high's or low's?

Thanks for the replies. As far as my physician writing one... I think she would...but then it's a matter of waiting for the next appointment.

Give her a call - she might not require an office visit for this. In fact, if you contact DexCom (or Minimed), they can contact your doctor and fax the necessary forms over. All your doc has to do is sign.
