I know Mother's Day is celebrated on different days in different countries, but this Sunday a very large number of countries where most of our members come from celebrate Mother's Day. Here's a small token to wish all moms in the community a VERY HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Thank you Manny. I don't like being the first to post on this, but will anyway. My only child died 8 years ago on May 8—Mother's Day this year. I have type 1 and she had cerebral palsy due to complications at birth. She lived 15 years. She was the biggest blessing of my life and my princess Kathryn Elisabeth, or as we called her, Katie Beth. Make sure to click on the photo I am attaching.

Lisa,

I am so sorry for your loss. My own mother passed in 1986 - four days after Mother's Day, of that year.

Hugs to you.

Trisha
bless your heart and sorrow for your loss...((((hugs))))

Cathy
Thanks, Lisa, for sharing that beautiful picture of your princess. I know you miss her everyday. I was intending to confess, when I thanked Manny for the wishes, that I was planning to whine a bit on Sunday for not being able to be with my grown daughters and that he had reminded me of how fortunate I am to be dealing with this disease myself as opposed to witnessing my child go through it. Obviously, your story reminds me of even more. Thanks to you both, I remember that I am "too blessed to be stressed."
Lisa,
Receive a VERY BIG HUG. Your princess is with you... you know it.

May you have a blessed mother's day.
Thanks Manny and everyone!!!
She was beautiful! And thank you for taking care of this precious gift of human life, even if it was only for a short time. And happy Mother's Day, because you are still, every ounce, a mother! :-)
What a sweet looking young lady...and she has my same birthday!! My teenage niece has cerebral palsy and oh what joy and love those that deal with this bring to our lives!!! Bet you miss her like crazy.
Manny,

Thank you for being so thoughtful. It is appreciated. :) My children are adults in their early 40's, but they are still my *kids* as far as I'm concerend. :)

Trisha
OF COURSE!!! My mom will continue to call me "nene" (baby) although I am already 38! :P
Thank you Manny ! I am looking foward to a nice weekend !
I have type 1 and my daughter was born 2 hours and 26 minutes after Mother's Day in 1991. I will celebrate her 20th birthday with her this year on Friday, May 13th. My partner, Jayne, also has type 1 (for 48 years!). We will celebrate our 13th anniversary this Month too. My daughter's father has cerebral palsy. Emily was his second child. His son will be 29 this year. My mother died when she was 66.

I have a lot to mourn, but also a lot to celebrate.

Lisa - so sorry for your loss.
