I drink almost 2 quarts of tea a day, my own personal alchemist's blend, and monitor it to ensure no bad reactions. It's bodily individual and personally trickey......Green de-caf brings my BS down fast after exercise, which raises it. But I vary my personal blend of organic loose-leaf as needed. Now, with a lot of stress due to caring for a dying mother full time, it includes dandelion(liver), hawthorn(heart),a happy tum blend for gastro-stress, chamomile by the gallon, of course, mint for digestion and personal pleasure, green de-caf with Kombucha ( for be-leagured immune system). Experiment and TEST. And Believe. Incluing that what works for you may not work for anyone else. That is what we are about!.....Wishing you well.....
Decaf green tea, chamomile, Ginseng and ginger tea doesnt have any signficant effect on my blood sugar...sometimes I add lemon and bit of sweetener. But when honey, cream or milk is added...that's another story.
I don't seem to have any problem with any kind of tea. I drink black, white , green and herbal, none of them effect my BS. Good thing too, because I drink about at least 6 cups a day. I don't add anything to the tea.
I have not had a problem with any of this...coffee, tea, whatever with or without caffeine. I do always use sweet n low with my coffee and stay clear of sugar unless I really need it. Old habits die hard, even being type 1 I guess. Good Luck!
