How many Test Strips do you use in 1 month? Just Curious.

I seem to be a compulsive "tester".....I was just wondering if I am "out there" on how many Test Strips I use. I will say about 400-500 a month!!!! I get 300 a month covered on my insurance.

I test 300 times a month =]
I test about 130 times per month, generly about 4-5 times per day. Only when I have either a high or low tests I watch to see if it is a trend. Are you under care of an Endocrinologist MD? A type 1 should not be with a General Practioner MD, they don't have the expertise to help you. One issue that causes me to swing is when I am under (self) caused nervous pressure. I then meditate and regain control. Dave

Test 300-350 times a month, under an Endocrinologist care.

I test 300 per month. I also have good insurance (it's good to be a Teamster)
Insurance says that's too much and Endo's imply that 300 is excessive. And maybe if I was perfect and lived in a mechanical world where nothing fluctuated or changed I would need less strips but the menotony of an unchanging world would likely drive me insane. I am using my Dexcom again so I am able to put aside a few test strips here and there, of course we cant tell any professionals about that or they would end that. I don't buy into the end of world prediction stuff but if something huge happened how long could you survive on the supplies you have now, 30, 60 90 days?

About 250 (average testing 7 times a day...)

I use about 300 or more. I test about 10 to 12 times a day.

Well it is a fact that the more you test the better your control.. BUT if you have a teenager child - he hates testing he sometimes only test 3-4 times per day.
260 a month, more when I'm at country.

3-4 times a day is better than nothing. So if I was you I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. He will be fine.

I probably test about 200 + times per month.
I test 8 times daily or 240 times per month.
300-350 is a typical month. Thankfully, my insurance covers whatever my doctor prescribes, so I get 1100 for 90 days.
