I know as diabetics, we're not immune to addiction.
I've become the "can't function without coffee" type.
I typically drink it black.
Even this requires around half a unit bolus for me. Anyone else?

I even use some artificial sweetener to my black coffee.

I bolus 2 units for my morning coffee routine...which includes half & half, splenda and a full pot. On top of that, my mornings tend to run a bit high (see: DAWN PHENOMENON) so sometimes I'm bolusing a few units to correct nature's curse too.
Permalink Reply by Brian (bsc) on January 7, 2013 at 8:37am I drink two large cups with heavy cream and bolus 1.3 units.
No, I don't need to bolus for coffee. I used to bolus when I used milk in my cappuccino but now I use almond milk so don't have to.

Permalink Reply by Mike on January 7, 2013 at 9:28am Zoe, do you use a carb-free almond milk? I love almond-milk, but all of the choices I have at my grocery store are sweetened. I'm curious what brand you've found.
Permalink Reply by mpfuchs on January 7, 2013 at 9:40am If it's 7g per cup, mpfuchs, it's the one with sugar; the unsweetened is only 2.
Permalink Reply by Wren on January 9, 2013 at 9:03am Mike, all of the brands seem to have an unsweetened version (with about 2g carbs per 8 oz.), but it sounds like your grocery store doesn't stock them :( I don't know if you have access to Trader Joes or Whole Foods, but both of their store brands have an unsweetened version and are both cheaper than the name brands.
I get Blue Diamond Unsweetened. It comes in two places in my market, either the fridge with the regular milk or on a shelf. The fridge is about .60 cheaper for the 1/2 gallon. I've gotten it in both vanilla and "regular". (unsweetened).
