TuDiabetes

Here is a video explaining how to use the Groups feature in our community.

For those who cannot view the video:

To Join a Group:

1. Click on "Groups" in the header menu at the top of the page.

2. Choose a group (or search for keywords to find a group) of which you would like to be a member.

3. Click on "Join Name-of-Group" at the upper right.

To Be Notified of Group Activity/Discussions/Comments:

Unlike discussion posts, you must actively choose to follow the group's activity. To do this, click the link to "Follow" the activity of the group on the menu to the immediate right of the group name.

This will allow you to receive email notifications every time someone posts to the group.

To Stimulate Activity in Your Groups:

1. Start a new discussion or reply to an existing discussion.
2. Invite new community members to join a group that might appeal to them. Look over the answers to their profile questions and see if there is a group (geographical, treatment strategy, etc) which might be a good fit and suggest that they join.
3. On the right side of each group's homepage, you'll see the faces of group members. Choose 2 or 3 and leave a comment on their profile pages telling them about an interesting discussion and asking them to come check it out.

Thanks, Melissa. That's very helpful. I'm one of those that couldn't really figure what the point of groups was as there seemed to be nothing happening in them, or if there was I wasn't notified of it. I hope everyone watches this.

I had the same feeling Ellie!! We should make a group for people who want to be in an active group :) That's already something we have in common!

I can see the description now. Do you like groups? Join this one. We congregate based on our love of congregating.

There's a very active one that Bobby started, called Lean On Me. I actually have been getting emails from that one, must have inadvertantly hit that "Follow" button before I knew about it. :-)

Thank you Melissa, This was indeed helpful. I belong to a group that isn't very active and I'm not getting as much out of it as I would like but now I have a better idea how I can help change that. Thanks again.

Thank you Melissa. Ditto! Kristen , I was thinking the same thing . Since posting & bloogging about other certain site I here a lot of no thanks, not interested, or where's the activity. I guess everyone has a reason for what they do but, if it's not interesting you will have less activity. Oh LOL I hear people are only on certain sites to see how many friends they can collect. I thought that was funny because it's up to you who you will or will not accept.
