I just started the MiniMed Paradigm about 6 months ago. When I started on it, I was already starting to feel better. About 2-3 months ago, I started getting pains in my legs, then my back, then my stomach, then my chest! I don't understand why I'm feeling worse than I ever have when the pump was supposed to help me feel better and be in better control. Anyone have any ideas or comments??

Symptoms
1. Nerve pain in legs, feet, stomach, chest, under arms, and fingers (It all started in my legs)
2. Gastroparisis
3. Fatigue

Thanks Kelly.

Yes I did the gastric emptying test. 61% of my food stays in my stomach. That's pretty bad right? :[

I just want some answers
I just now noticed your question when I posted the article. Yes, 61% is bad.

I was looking for something related to autonomic neuropathy and came across this article – I thought of you as soon as I read it. You said that all the neurologist did was basically test your strength. This article states that strength remains the same in small fiber neuropathy. I know my strength was good for a long, long time.

Small fiber neuropathy is increasingly being recognized as a major cause of painful burning sensations in the feet, especially in the elderly. Although strength remains preserved throughout the course of the disease, the pain and paresthesias are often disabling. Diabetes mellitus is the most common identifiable cause of small fiber neuropathy, and impaired oral glucose tolerance and individual components of the metabolic syndrome are often associated with it. Some cases, however, are idiopathic. Skin biopsy (with an evaluation of the density of intraepidermal nerve fibers) and tests of autonomic nerve function are useful for the diagnosis. Management involves controlling pain and identifying and aggressively treating the underlying cause.
