Insulin pump question: Minimed's older Silhouette connectors?

When I wore an older Minimed 508 pump what I loved was they had infusion set connectors sold individually.

This comes in handy for me because sometimes the connectors will just peel off (even though I use the Smith And Nephew I.V. Prep Wipes or ReliaMed Protective Barrier Wipes sticky swabs to secure them) or sometimes, like last night, I'll toss and turn more than usual. (I'm a restless sleeper.) When that happens, instead of trashing the entire connection, I can grab an old 508 connector (pictured on the left), as I still have a few, and not waste a whole reservoir set or burn time going through all the steps to fill, get the bubbles out, blah, blah, blah again.

Why did Minimed stop making that part for Silhouette models that connect to the Revel pumps? It's essentially the same part, and I can't imagine that I'm the only person who uses the Silhouette connector that has this issue. Is it money? You mess up a set then you have to use another, even if you open it just for the connector.

Also, anyone switch pumps and have some to spare? I'll take them. This happens to me once every few weeks. It's not often but it's often enough that I'm getting a little nervous as my stash of old 508 stuff is slowly disappearing.

Since it's on my mind right now, I decided to ask.

I have the same problem, I had several "pull-outs" last summer, running in heat and was sticking extra sets in and taking spares along and stuff and have never quite gotten them evened out. At the same time, I feel obligated to "hoarder" them because you never know...

Exactly why I hoard them too. I'll guess I'll have to beat you out for a supply of them if I can find them. ;)

Are you talking about what used to be called Combo Sils?
There are Cannula sites No Tubing listed in the Minimed store.
It says new..............

They come in a thingy w/ a tube/ connector *and* the needle/ set gizmo though, so if you need a set for some reason, you pretty much have to smoke a tube too, in that it's no longer in it's sealed, protective packaging. I just toss them into a drawer. I've probably had 10x sets for each hose I needed to replace so I always have a bunch of spare tubes lying around.

I called MiniMed and asked if they still made a version for the pump I wear. The rep I spoke to said "no". However, I realize that these days with a lot of customer service types that if it requires research, it's easier for them just to say "no" even if it's not true. If you're right, then the rep I spoke to was wrong and that solves the problem.

Let me go look. Yep!!! It's there: here is the link to the page they're listed on! Here is the one that works for the infusion set that I currently use: MMT-369.

Thanks Laura! Aye @acidrock23, we're good! Now I just have to get my doc to write a px to add those to my supply list. I'll only need a few though.

In defense of that MiniMed rep, since these do have "new" on them. Maybe they weren't being sold when I called. Hmmmmmm...

I was surprised to see it there, glad it worked out!

~Happy Dance~ Because I'm down to only a few more. ;) Again, thank you.
