Hello everyone!
In the coming days we will be moving a few things around on the site, searching for ways to optimize the TuDiabetes experience for everyone. If you have any ideas or suggestions about ways to do this, please post them in here, so we can explore them.

Thank you so much!

I, too, agree. I don't like having fewer posts on the index page - I need to go to forums, scroll through what I've already seen.... I really like Alan's suggestion for 'Show unread posts since last visit and 'Show new replies to your posts'.

It took me ages to notice the left-hand links at first. What caught my eye was the discussions list. Please don't add even more!

I like the idea of Today's Posts, too. Or even a subsidiary link to This Week's Posts, because sometimes I'm out of town or otherwise busy, and don't check in for a couple of days. And being the blabbermouth I am, there ARE things I'd like to comment on! :-)

About the Types, I also prefer to separate out type 1 from Type 1.5 (or LADA), because a lot of the issues are different. Or perhaps child diagnosis vs. adult diagnosis. Of course, I think everyone should be free to comment on anything, because wisdom can pop up anywhere! :-)

I will probably comment more later, as I see how things work! :-)

Actually, a mobile friendly version would be cool too. I browse tud from phone sometimes when waiting in lines etc and it's mostly ok but the photos for example are highly distracting, and tend to cause page jumping and load delays which can cause mis-clicks... Not sure if ning allows modification based on browser types and can exclude certain elements depending on variables?

I'm easy. If I have trouble navigating the new space, I'll ask. I've been through a few of these and they always settle out fine eventually. Have fun! And Blessings on Change and Impermanence in the Universe!......

I want Manny to keep his picture up. It show what Tudiabetes is about.

For people like me who want to see the latest new post on top, how about the latest new post on top? Within your broad categories of Type 1, Type 2. Then people who can see only a part of a screen could see that latest one posted. Some people on here are dealing with zoomtexts. And some people are barely dealing - that's me - too busy to get back here often.
I'm so date-oriented that I would put everything a month old into history - then by topic and give everything links. Then history could be used by newbies to their delight to learn what's been. And oldies could concentrate on the latest!

I also like each post dated in the post list.

I agree with the idea of dating posts in the post list. I don't know if you can do anything about this at your end or if I just need to use my technology tools more---I have low vision. Having the option of making the writing larger would help. I agree that Manny's picture should be up. I don't have lots of tme to explore the site--hopefully that will change soon--so easier navigation in current discussions wouild help. I love the idea of having a type 1 link for current information. I'm a member of TYPE1 Diabetes Lounge, run by Merle Gleeson. Anyone in the Chicago area---we are having a great event tomorrow:
ZUMBA for Diabetes ---all donations(we're asking for twenty dollars) go directly to the Juvenile Diabetes and Research Foundation. The event runs from 1:00 to 3:30 at the Unitarian Church in Evanston. Come and dance or volunteer! Also, the Gala is next week--December 10th. You can volunteer and get to see the Doobie Brothers--especially for all you baby boomerrs! Just thougt I'd throw out those bits of info. Anyways, I love TuDiabetes already so any upgrades I'm sure will be great! Go Manny and Team!!!

Thank Manny can't wait to see what you are up to. I had sent you an e-mail a while back about a survey that you had sent out. I was not able to finish it. I was having some technical difficulties with the site. I hope that you got the email.

Do you have any stats on what is visited most? That could be the key to deciding what to put up front and visible. I know when I come to visit, I'm looking to see what topics are currently active and have to do lot of scrolling to find what is happening at the moment. Maybe a two column approach would work so that you can put the things you want to highlight up the top and the most commonly accessed pages also have a prominent position.

I personally like it that there isn't a lot of class distinction on this site - those pesky wars about Type 1s not having done anything to cause their diabetes while those irresponsible Type 2s have to be held accountable for what they've done to themselves really irk me. We're all diabetics and who really knows what the base cause was? Not me. I like it that we can find specific information and discussions here while we are still part on the one community. Please don't divide us up according to what type of diabetes we have.

I'd like to see the Featured Discussions disappear. They take up so much room and really don't change that often. So it just means I have to scroll down to start reading new discussions.

Like others, I'd like a way to read new discussions since my last visit. There is no way I'm going to scroll through 10 or more pages of a discussion to see what's new. I think I probably miss a lot of interesting posts because they are lost inside of some marathon threads.

(I personally wish that people would start new posts more often rather than resurrecting threads that were started several years ago. But that's not really related to what you're asking for here.)

I agree with what everyone else has said about having some sort of indicator that a discussion is new and/or has new replies since the last visit. I know threads have this e-mail feature when people reply, which I haven't tried), but many other sites have a little "new" tag or something next to posts with new content, and have this for TuD would be nice, if it's technically possible.

How do you measure the work of volunteers?

329,040 minutes, 329,040 moments so dear. 329,040 minutes — How do you measure, measure volunteers? In smileys, in tears shed, in counsel, in cups of coffee. In units, in carb counts, in laughter, in strife. In 329,040 minutes – how …
