Hi everyone,

Today I received a call from a "National Diabetes Association" (phone number that displayed was 000-000-0000 with caller ID of "NAME NOT FOUND") My wife answered as I was on a conference call and couldn't take it. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this organization?

I'm always one to be suspicious about cold calls so i wanted to see if anyone else has received a call or is familiar with this "organization". I googled them and didn't find anything specific for them.

Hopefully they will call back so I can dig deeper and try to get more information from them so I can share it with you all.

Thanks
Steve

oops I made a mistake, It was the National Diabetes Assistance and not Association.
I just googled, it looks like a durable medical supply company.
I have no idea Sue and thank you for the reply. It was a cold call. I've never heard of this company or signed anything to allow them to call me. They haven't called back yet so I haven't had a chance to talk to them. I was on another call for work and my wife took their call.

With the amount of phone scams going around I'm always skeptical of ANY cold calls especially when they show up as "UNKNOWN CALLER" number of 000-000-0000.

I've had a few of the cold calls wanting to "help" me with my credit cards and such but man, if they start scamming us diabetics, that draws the line! ;-)
Ok, at this site it appears they have been bought by Liberty Medical whom I have heard of.
Well, if it was the National Diabetes Association, they are a scam. Here is an article from AARP.
Thanks bsc, I read the article and I wouldn't be surprised I hear a similar pitch if and when they call back. If they do, then I'll gather as much info as I can and post it here.
